Shibari is a self-centred and self-awareness practice, almost like a meditation that is guided through someone you have to trust, communicate, and consent. I focused on resting in abeyance and the rope as the main actor of stealing our thoughts. Suspension can have several different effects on the human body and mind. I want to concentrate on the inner peace of mind and the meditative effect. Being suspended lets, you float in the room: „Not knowing where is up and down anymore.” Through the photographic lens and the usage of analogue techniques, I challenge myself, the photographer as well as my collaborators if we can capture and illustrate this rare and intense moment.
